RATIONAL PARENTING

It makes sense! (We hope...)

Committed to finding ways out of the coercion/self-sacrifice mire of conventional parenting. We are variously critical rationalists, libertarians, home educators, attachment-parents, but we take our ideas where we find them.

Handy Tips of the, um, Month (?)

1. Print all your favourite song lyrics off the internet, and collect them in a big songbook. The tunes are easier to pick up, and everyone can have fun learning "Big Spender" and Britney classics (especially good for long car journeys, boring clearup sessions, etc).

2. While trying to singlong to loud Shirley Bassey tracks in one room, get someone else to play with your toddler who hates loud noises.

3. Always keep a bookcase on the landing, so small people to signal their frustration at not being attended to immediately by chucking valued old tomes down the stairs. Hmm. Or maybe a pile of bricks would be more desirable?
